ABOUT
Jamie Rhodes, a creative writing lecturer at UCL and an Eisner Award nominee for his work A Castle in England, is working on a new project, Plant Stories. Alongside this, he's completing a PhD that investigates how stories engage readers, combining insights from creative writing and philosophy. His research aims to uncover practical methods for deepening narrative immersion. Jamie's academic and creative pursuits highlight his commitment to exploring the intricacies of storytelling and its effects on readers. His work is marked by a keen interest in how stories from different domains, whether historical or natural, can captivate and inform.
An utterly charming delight, snapshots of British history viewed through the people who have lived in and around this castle for almost seven hundred years, a reminder, if one be needed, that these magnificent structures are more than just our architectural heritage… this is a lovely and unusual addition to British comics shelves, and a charming read for both those well-versed in history and those who are only dipping their toes in, curious to know more.
